Happy and satisfied we signed the purchase contract for Domaine Le Haut Verger in October 2015. After many years of searching, both in France and in the Netherlands, it was clear this time: this beautiful property in the Berry was what we had been looking for all this time.

Twenty years earlier we had visited the former Duchy Berry and the village of Gargilesse for the first time on the occasion of an article that we had read in a Dutch newspaper about the history of this region. We were instantly in love with both.
And then, after we had stopped our active search in France, we found a country house with a gardener’s house at a Dutch second hand site (!), for which we decided to go to France again. Especially when it appeared that the house was in Gargilesse.

We feel still privileged to be the new passers-by in the existence of Domaine Le Haut Verger. And we want to take good care of the property. It was already beautiful, but needed love, attention and craftsmanship.
