WORK TO BE DONE!
It was immediately clear to us that the house could use some attention and care, but only gradually dit it come to light what exactly had to be done: a lot of work!
Fortunately, Le Haut Verger is an incredibly solid house that effortlessly endured the many years of neglect and nonchalance. Nothing is wrong with the hull. For example, for the woodwork there has been used oak, from the floors to the impressive roof construction and everything in between.
Of the many frames that the house counts, only one was rotten. There was, however, in all windows and doors – and there are so many – such thin glass that something had to be done about it immediately. Meanwhile we have provided a large part of the windows and doors in the house with insulating glass. Of course while maintaining those oak windows and doors.
We also devoted and paid a lot of attention to the further insulation of the house in order to increase living comfort and reduce the heating costs. Plumbing, water, sewerage and the electrical installation were partially rejected and we have adjusted them to the requirements of time. And the whole house gets a brush. All in all a big job.
