Chambres d’hôtes & Gîtes

Domaine Le Haut Verger

Under French law, only the French text of our general terms and conditions is valid. What follows is a translation.

Application The general conditions apply to every stay at Domaine Le Haut Verger, unless otherwise agreed in written form and signed by the owner Mr J.M.T. van Velsen.

Duration of stay The stay in our chambres d’hôtes or gîtes is only possible for tourist purposes, with a limited duration. The customer cannot rely on any right to perpetuate his stay.

Reservation and (down) payment If you want to make a reservation, you can send us an e-mail or call us. We will send you as soon as possible a booking form by e-mail. After receiving it back from you, and if the reservation can be honoured, we will send you an e-mail with the invoice and any further information.

All our rates are in euros.

The deposit of 50% of the rental must be received by us (by bank transfer) by the payment date specified in the invoice. Once the deposit is received by us, your reservation is considered final.

The remaining amount (50%) must have been paid no later than 4 weeks before your arrival date (except in case of special written arrangements made by us with you). If we do not receive the remaining amount within the agreed period, we may cancel the reservation, of which we will inform you by e-mail. In that case, 50% of the down payment received from you will be refunded to you.

If the reservation takes place within 6 weeks before your departure, the entire amount of rent must be paid in one go, within the period specified in the invoice. If full payment is not received within the agreed period, the reservation may be cancelled by us, of which we will notify you by e-mail. Of any partial payment made by you, only an amount higher than 25% of the total rent due will be refunded to you.

The above regulation on payment is not valid if another agreement has been made in writing by us, the host, with you, the guest. In that case, the written agreement made will apply.

Payments You must transfer the (down) payment according to the information on the invoice you will receive.

Accuracy data The reservation form must be filled in truthfully. You are responsible for the correctness of the data or for passing on changes in this data. You must check the reservation dates entered on the reservation form and, if anything is incorrect in them, notify us in writing within 7 days.

Cancellation by guest(s) Cancellation of the reservation must be done in written form by e-mail (or by registered mail). You will receive a written confirmation from us via e-mail on the day that we receive your cancellation, whereupon it enters into force.

Stay of up to three days: If you cancel your stay of up to three days in our bed and breakfast or one of our gîtes 2 weeks (or more) before arrival, the amount you have already paid minus 15 euros in administration costs will be refunded to you. If cancelled in the period of 2 weeks before arrival no refund will be made. If during your stay you are forced to leave earlier or no longer wish to make use of your accommodation, you are not entitled to a refund of the payment.

Stay of four or more days: If you cancel your stay of four or more days in our bed and breakfast or one of our gîtes 4 weeks (or more) before arrival, the amount you have already paid minus 50 euros in administration costs will be refunded to you. If we have received the cancellation between 4 and 2 weeks before your arrival, 50% of the total rent will be refunded. If cancelled in the period of 2 weeks before arrival no refund will be made. If during your stay you are forced to leave earlier or no longer wish to make use of your accommodation, you are not entitled to a refund of the payment.

The above regulation on cancellation is not valid if another agreement has been made in writing by us, the host, with you, the guest. In that case, the written agreement made will apply.

Changes and cancellation by Domaine Le Haut Verger In those cases that we ourselves have to make a change in the booking or cancel your stay, you will be informed as soon as possible. If you wish, we will try to arrange an equivalent alternative for you. Except for a possible additional charge, of course no additional costs will be charged for this. If you do not wish to make use of this possibility or you do not wish to make use of the offered alternative, the full amount already paid will be refunded immediately. After this, the contract is declared dissolved and Domaine Le Haut Verger can no longer be held liable.

Arrival and departure On the day of arrival you are welcome at Domaine Le Haut Verger from 16:00 h onwards. On the day of departure you are requested to leave the accommodation before 10:00 h. If you would like a different arrival time or departure time than mentioned above, please contact us.

On the day of arrival, if you know your approximate time of arrival during the day, it is nice if you inform us via text message, a message via Signal or a phone call.

Accomodations Gîtes: The gîtes are fully furnished, including bed, bath and kitchen linen, which is changed once a week. In June, July and August, the gîtes are only rented out per week, in principle from Saturday to Saturday. There are mandatory final cleaning costs. We ask you to leave the gîte as you found it, which means that you put your waste in the appropriate containers, that crockery and kitchenware are clean in the cupboards and that all the furniture is put back in its original place.

Chambres d’hôtes: The chambres d’hôtes are rented per night on the basis of one or two persons including a full breakfast and bed & bath linen.

Number of people using the accommodation The number of people staying in one of our accommodations may not exceed the number of sleeping places. Persons other than those mentioned on the booking form are not entitled to use the accommodation, except with the express permission of the owner of Domaine Le Haut Verger. In the event that the maximum number of persons is exceeded without prior permission, we reserve the right to withdraw the booking, even on arrival. In that case you are not entitled to a refund.

Your responsibility All guests are expected to use the accommodation and everything that goes with it normally and to leave it in the state as found at the start of the stay. We appreciate it if you notify us immediately in case of damage.

You are expected to respect the calm at Le Haut Verger and the tranquillity of the other guests.

What can you expect from us? The accommodation will be delivered clean and tidy to you. If you still find items that are not what you expect or that are broken or dirty, please report it to us. We will fix it as soon as possible.

Smoking All our accommodations are non-smoking. Smoking outside is only allowed if you are not bothering others.

Pets Pets are not allowed. However, horses, mules and donkeys are welcome.

Finally French law is applicable and any disputes must be submitted to the Tribunal de Commerce.
